Almost 9 yea
rs since Simone's passing and I'm happy to finally put out this album dedicated to the life we shared. Feels good.
It is, of course, a deeply personal and meaningful album for me, but I'm pretty sure you'll relate to it… the feelings and experiences in the songs are universal.
When I reflect back on our 27 years together, I'm grateful for so many things. We were in such harmony and spent the vast majority of our time together. The wisdom she expressed upleveled my awareness considerably. And the touch of her hand was like a warm, peaceful elixir.
Perhaps most of all… hmm… I'm not sure I can convey this well, but I'll try. Just being with her, seeing her, thinking of her, I would be swept into feeling overwhelming waves of love. When she would see it happening to me, she'd laugh and blush, just shaking her head like I was crazy.
It's what we were together, and I'm forever grateful.
So… you'll hear these themes throughout the songs and I hope you enjoy them. And for the songs that may be harder to listen to due to pain involved, know that hearing them honors Simone and I, and the great challenges we faced, together.
