My life in music was profoundly influenced by my sister, Lori. She would buy albums and 45s that to my ear were so melodic it brought me joy. The British sound of The Beatles, The Hollies, The Dave Clark 5, Herman’s Hermits, along with The Beach Boys, The Mamas & the Papas, The Four Seasons, The Byrds, and yes, The Monkees, all planted seeds of harmony deep within me.
She also taught me how to play guitar. We'd so often sing and play, and California Dreamin' was one such song!
Thus, it’s only fitting that the album’s first single, California Dreamin’, was sung with my dear sister. So much fun.
In three weeks, another single will be released, followed by the album drop on June 27.
