Wine and Orgies. Yup!

It's so much fun to do cover tunes. Played ‘em in so many clubs over the years so it’s cool putting out the upcoming Something Borrowed album. Thank my sister for the great title!

But I can't rest on my laurels… btw, has anyone seen my laurels? Pretty sure they're around here somewhere. Oh right, back to my incredibly interesting story.

When I was a wee lad, there was a Roman God of Wine and Orgies, and his name was Bacchus. He appeared to Jay Chapin, David Domeshek, Kenny Tuchman, Jeff Jonas and I and said in thundering yet slurred ancient Roman, “A band thy shall form and my music thy shall play.”

We looked at each other, tossed a few coins in his cup and moved on.

But then we got to thinking, hey, that's a good idea! So David and I headed to Sam Ash where I bought a Gibson SG Standard guitar while he picked up a  Fender Bass and amp. First step to superstardom, no?

This is the only photo I have of Bacchus. It appears that even then, I had crypto laser eyes. Who knew?!

We learned tons of songs by artists like The Beatles, The Eagles, Loggin's and Messina, CSNY, Chicago, The Doobie Brothers, Peter Frampton, Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, Cream, Fleetwood Mac, Poco, Cat Stevens, The Rolling Stones, and tons more.

These were great times playing gigs through our different iterations. And the love of cover tunes persists.

And now, a channeled message from my dear, late mother, Shelly. (now? say this now? oh, okay.) “Hi everyone, do me a fayva and follow my mostly wonderful son (Mom!)(what?)… if you would follow him on something called Spotify and subscribe to his YouTube page. I don't know what that means, but he says it will make him happy and that will make me happy. Thank you!”

Thanks, mom. You really sold it.
