My band, Hidden Secrets, was playing a show at Madame Wong’s in West L.A. — a great venue where everyone from The Police to Gun N’ Roses had played. In between sets, I made my way to the men’s room to set free the liquids I had consumed.
As I stood at a urinal — of course, staring straight ahead as one does — some guy to the right starts giggling. I chuckled to myself, thinking he probably had a few too many beers. Then he starts laughing and saying the funniest things. I started laughing and he said, “Right?”, and he kept laughing and being hysterically funny.
I couldn’t stay with customary protocol. I had to look at this guy so I turned to the right and there stood Robin Williams, looking at me with this huge grin. He said, “So much to laugh at in a bathroom,” then he looked downward in my direction and burst out laughing.
Too funny. Unforgettable moment. Sweet being.
