It’s Not a Mistake, Yeah, That’s Right!

In college, I used to play clubs a lot. Mostly acoustic, some electric. 90% cover tunes — hits of the time. People would tell me how much they loved my renditions. (Thank you!) I assumed by “my renditions”, they meant they liked my voice on those songs because the guitar parts were as accurate as I could play ‘em, and I was singing the songs just like the records.

When choosing songs for the new album, Something Borrowed, I was listening to some live recordings from back in the day at The Boulevard in Albany. Song after song, I was like, WTF??? Singing just like the records? Young one, let me just say, that was way too many psychedelics!

So I wasn’t surprised when listening to all the…um… my renditions, yeah that’s right, my renditions on Something Borrowed that I recognized where my renditionyness (technical term) was showing up. Yup, true to form!

There’s also a (gasp!) wrong chord on the album! But thanks to my illustrious mixing engineer from Digital Zoo Music, Mr. Jeffrey Carruthers, I Can See Clearly Now.

First one to tell me the chord will get a special gift!

Hope you enjoy!
